First exit polls: Emmanuel Macron projected to win French presidential election second round
According to the first exit polls released by France 24, centrist's candidate Emmanuel Macron is projected to win the presidential election (second round) with 65.1% of the votes vs. far-right's candidate Marine Le Pen with 34.9%.
The turnout was 65.3% at 5:00 PM local time, down from 72% in 2012 elections, French's Interior Ministry reports. As France 24 notes, estimated abstention rate (25.3%) is the highest since 1969.
