Sterling rallies as robust UK employment and reports of US-Iran diplomatic progress weaken the Dollar
Israel’s Channel 12 News reported that the proposal presented by the Pakistani army chief to senior Iranian officials has already been approved by the US and has received preliminary agreement from Tehran.
According to Israel’s Channel 12 News, Qatar would unfreeze and transfer $6 billion US Dollars to Iran, with Tehran agreeing to a secret visit, which wouldn’t be publicly announced, by the International Atomic Energy Agency to its nuclear facilities.
On the news, the US Dollar Index (DXY), which tracks the performance of the Greenback versus six currencies, edged down 0.32% to 101.66.

GBP/USD Price Forecast: Technical outlook
In the daily chart, GBP/USD trades at 1.3375, retaining a mildly bearish bias as it holds beneath the cluster of the 50-, 100- and 200-day simple moving averages (SMA) around 1.3411 and the descending trend-line resistance coming in near 1.3407. The Relative Strength Index (14) at 56.3 has lifted into positive territory, hinting at improving momentum, yet with price still capped by these overhead technical barriers, the recovery appears corrective within a broader consolidative downside tone.
On the topside, initial resistance is located at the descending trend line around 1.3407, followed closely by the triple SMA barrier near 1.3411, where a clear daily close above would open the door toward the former rising support lines turned resistance at 1.3616 and 1.3801. On the downside, immediate support is seen at the prior downtrend break level near 1.3273, and a move back below this pivot would expose a deeper retracement of the recent advance, reasserting bearish pressure on the pair.
