GBPUSD Comments:

  • Anna Coulling:

Having cleared the 1.63 price point cable promptly sold off sharply to leave a deep shooting star candle on the daily chart which was promptly validated the following day as dollar strengh on hawkish comments from the FOMC. Cable is now once again testing the psychological 1.60 price level but with a strong platform of support at this price except to see a bounce off this platform and a return to test, initially the 1.6186 level, before returning to the 1.63 area in due course.

  • Ilian Yotov:

Despite of the recent pullback of the GBP, as long as the Bank of England continues to sit on the QE sidelines, the GBP should remain as a viable alternative to other currencies whose central banks go full speed ahead with more easing.

  • Yohay Elam:

Cable could stabilize at these levels, after false upwards breakout and the following plunge.
