Stronger Canadian data of late is helping to fend off the drag on CAD from lower oil prices as we head into the OPEC meeting on Thursday. The 'best' hope now appears to be that members will actually stick to their current output quotas, though past experience does tend to show that producers always find it harder to turn the taps off than turn them on. We suspect that many are playing a waiting game on USD/CAD until the OPEC meeting is out of the way, though those sitting short of AUD/CAD appear to have little cause for concern. PB
