ECB Holzmann: Sees inflation rate down again later this year, next

The European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council member Robert Holzmann said, during an interview to the ORF TV on Monday, that he expects the inflation in Europe to continue dropping this year, as well as the next.

The policymaker also sees a marginal impact from the fourth wave of COVID on the economy.

FX implications

Global markets ignored comments from ECB’s Holzmann amid a light calendar and cautious sentiment. That said, EUR/USD remains indecisive near 1.1800 by the press time of early Tuesday morning in Asia.
