UK PM May defends new Brexit policy ahead of talks with Corbyn, Tusk

UK Prime Minister Theresa May appears in the House of Commons and said that the House has set out a clear direction for Brexit. May expresses confidence on her aim to renegotiate the Irish Backstop in the Brexit accord, following approval of the Brady Amendment on Tuesday.

The PM fends off criticism from Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn, head of the opposition. The two will meet at around 15:00 GMT. There are no prospects for collaboration around Brexit.

At 17:45 GMT, May is set to speak to European Council President Donald Tusk about the new British position. Tusk was quick to issue a statement rejecting any change in the Brexit agreement.

Reports from the phone conversation may move GBP/USD. Cable is currently constrained to a limited range ahead of the all-important Fed decision later on.
