China’s NHC reports 394 new confirmed cases of coronavirus, 114 new deaths

According to the latest report published by China’s National Health Commission (NHC) on Thursday, 394 new confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported on the mainland on Feb 19 vs. 1,749 on Feb 18.

Hubei reported 108 new deaths, while in the provincial capital of Wuhan, 88 people died.

Amid the Chinese rate cut announcement and a decline in new coronavirus cases in China, the yuan is extending the declines, dragging the Antipodeans lower alongside.

The AUD/USD pair prints a new 11-year low below 0.6650 while NZD/USD sits at a fresh three-month low of 0.6356. Meanwhile, USD/JPY holds steady around 111.30, divided between coronavirus optimism, firmer Asian stocks and cautiously optimistic FOMC minutes.
