Wall Street ends week with important gains

  • Dow Jones continues with its positive streak and posts highest close since mid-February.
  • Main indexes ended week higher and the DXY suffered the worst slide since March.

Wall Street indexes rose on Friday, extending weekly gains. The Dow Jones gained 0.30% and finished at 25,315 (highest close since February) while the S&P 500 gained 0.31%. Over the week, the DJIA gained 2.75% and the S&P 1.60%.

US Treasury yields rose modestly on Friday and closed at 2.94%. Among currencies, the US Dollar recovered ground but the DXY finished the week lower with a 0.69% slide, the worst performance since March.

The week ended with market participants eyes on the G7 meeting. The positive streak will be challenged next week with the outcome of the G7 meeting, US data, FOMC, BoJ and ECB meetings, among other key events.
