US Pres. Trump prepares to threaten Mexico with new tariffs in attempt to force migrant crackdown - Washington Post

Earlier during Asian Friday, Washington Post came out with a news report that says that the US President Donald Trump is preparing to threaten Mexico with tariffs and may also try to force Mexico to crack down on migrants seeking asylum in US.

The news report further said that President Trump is planning to make the announcement Friday, but some White House aides are trying to talk him out of it, arguing that such a threat would rattle financial markets and potentially imperil passage of the USMCA trade agreement, according to these officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal administration plans.

The news had a negative impact on the Mexican Peso as it slumped after the announcement.
