RBA seen holding rates steady until end-2018: Reuters Poll

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) would stand pat at its policy meeting next week and is seen holding rates unchanged at record low of 1.75 percent until end 2018, a Reuters poll of economists showed.

Of the 30 economists polled, 29 forecast the RBA would stand pat at its policy meeting on April 3.

The interest rate is seen at 2.0 percent by September 2019, according to a median of 28 economists vs. the previous forecast of 2.0 percent by mid-2019.

A rise in the cash rate to 1.75 percent is not seen until March 2019, according to a median, with 15 of 30 analysts predicting at least one hike versus 8 who see no change.
