Economists expect the BOE to hike rates two times in 2019

A Bloomberg survey shows the economists are expecting the Bank of England (BOE) to hike rates twice in 2019.

The majority of 31 economists surveyed by Bloomberg expect the interest rate to reach 1.25 percent by the end of 2019, a quarter-point higher than in the July survey.

The first hike from the current rate of 0.75 percent is seen happening following the UK's exit from the European Union (EU). So, it seems safe to say the concerns that hard Brexit will force the BOE to discontinue policy tightening may be overdone.
