USD/RUB weaker, hovering over 63.00
|The Russian currency remains on a firm note vs. the greenback today, taking USD/RUB to the 63.00 nieghbourhood.
USD/RUB rebounds from 62.90
After hitting daily lows in the 62.90 region, the pair managed to retake the 63.00 handle although it is so far failing to extend the bullish attempt beyond 63.20.
RUB stays bid despite the barrel of Brent crude is retreating nearly 1% to the $47.30 area early in the European afternoon.
Ahead in the week on the Russian data front, Retail Sales and the Unemployment Rate are expected tomorrow and CBR’s FX Reserves are due on Thursday.
USD/RUB levels to watch
At the moment the pair is retreating 0.64% at 63.09 facing the next support at $62.75 (2016 low Jul.14) followed by 62.04 (monthly low Nov.2015) and then 60.70 (monthly low Oct.2015). On the other hand, a surpass of 64.06 (20-day sma) would expose 65.80 (high Jul.6) and finally 67.67 (high Jun.2).
