US Pres Trump expected to make major decision on China trade - Reuters

As reported by Reuters, US President Donald Trump is meeting with his key economic advisors today to reach a final decision on whether or not to move ahead of tariffs against Chinese goods.

According to sources, Trump is eager to bring his on-deck tariffs into the field, with Trump apparently believing that he no longer has to take a 'softer' stance towards China on trade now that he has what he refers to as a "direct line" to North Korea.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin is reportedly against the tariff move, while Sarah Sanders has announced that Trump has apparently already made a decision, and markets may have to wait for a Tweet from the POTUS to find out what that decision is.

The official told Reuters that Trump no longer thought of China’s influence over North Korea as a compelling reason not to impose tariffs now that the United States had a direct line of communication with Pyongyang. “We have a channel that’s independent of China now,” he said.
