UK's Javid: No reason to go beyond July 19 to lift restrictions
|British health minister Sajid Javid said on Monday that they don't see any reasons to go beyond July 19 to lift coronavirus-related restrictions, as reported by Reuters.
"We know we cannot eliminate the coronavirus; we have to learn to live with it," Javid told parliament. "We should not wait a moment longer than we need to lift restrictions."
Market reaction
These comments don't seem to be having a noticeable impact on the British pound's performance against its major rivals. As of writing, the GBP/USD pair was virtually unchanged on the day at 1.3880.
