RBNZ’s Hawkesby: Have 'genuine neutral bias' on interest rates, Kiwi unfazed around 0.6465

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) has a genuine neutral bias on the interest rates, said the central bank’s Assistant Governor/GM Economics, Financial Markets and Banking, Christian Hawkesby in an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday.

Sees household consumption gains boosting growth in 2H 2020.

Expect labor market to soften, low rates will support.

Comfortable using full 1-3% inflation range.

Inflation above 2% 'would be healthy'.

Rates on hold at record low for a long time.

The corrective slide in the Kiwi from multi-day tops remains intact, although the bulls seem to be fighting back control near 0.6460 region, at the press time.
