New Zealand Govt appoints a panel to review the RBNZ

The New Zealand Government announced in its latest statement that it has appointed a panel to review the working of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) on Tuesday.

The panel comprises of the following members, as appointed by the NZ Finance Minister:

Former RBNZ director Suzanne Snively, who will chair the panel.

Former RBA assistant governor Malcolm Edey.

Victoria University School of Government Head Girol Karacaoglu.

The panel will release the review report in tandem with the NZ Treasury Department and will hold its first meeting later this month.

Meanwhile, the Kiwi came under fresh selling on the above headlines and dropped back below 0.70 handle.
