McConnell says GOP doesn’t have votes to block impeachment witnesses - WSJ

In a private Senate GOP meeting, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the GOP leaders don't have the votes right now to block witnesses from testifying at President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial.

The president’s legal team finished its oral arguments ealier today, leaving the Senate to adjourn until Wednesday when a question period begins. this is where Senators will be able to spend up to 16 hours over two days asking questions of each side. A vote on whether to hear witnesses in the trial is expected on Friday.
