Japan’s Aso: No change of plan to raise sales tax

Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso was reported by Reuters, as saying that there is no change in the government’s plan in proceeding with the October sales tax hike, barring a big economic shock on the scale of the collapse of Lehman Brothers.

On Tuesday, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga clarified there is no change to the government view on raising sales tax after Kyodo News reported that Japan could delay the October sales tax hike.
