Inflation affected by crude prices – ECB’s E.Nowotny

Ewald Nowotny, member of the ECB’s Governing Council, has attached the ongoing low levels of inflation in the euro region to the current performance of crude oil prices.

The barrel of crude Brent remains sidelined around $49.20 early in Europe, retracing yesterday’s spike to the mid-$50.00s, fresh 2016 tops, while EUR/USD keeps the trade below the 1.1200 handle.
