France denies it has softened stance on Brexit - Reuters

Reuters carried a report on Sunday, citing that France denied that President Emmanuel Macron had offered concessions on the Irish backstop to end the stalemate over the Brexit negotiations.

The statement read: "These (reports) are without any foundation ... The French position is that of the European Union: the withdrawal agreement is not renegotiable"

The clarification came after the UK Times reported that France was reported earlier to have offered concessions to the Brexit.
