First exit polls: Emmanuel Macron projected to win French presidential election second round
|According to the first exit polls released by France 24, centrist's candidate Emmanuel Macron is projected to win the presidential election (second round) with 65.1% of the votes vs. far-right's candidate Marine Le Pen with 34.9%.
The turnout was 65.3% at 5:00 PM local time, down from 72% in 2012 elections, French's Interior Ministry reports. As France 24 notes, estimated abstention rate (25.3%) is the highest since 1969.
