Brexit: Corbyn walked out of cross party meeting

Vince Cable states that Corbyn walked out of meeting with May because the independent group were present  - Sunday Times’ political editor, Tim Shipman.

A Labour spokesperson just said about the incident:

It was not the meeting that had been agreed and the terms were broken. Downing Street is in such chaos that they were unable to manage their own proposed meeting. We are in discussions with No 10 about holding the bilateral meeting with the PM that Jeremy proposed at PMQs.

Press Association reports that Liberal Democrat leader Sir Vince Cable said about Jeremy Corbyn’s walkout from the cross-party meeting: “That is rather a strange way to behave in a national crisis.” Chuka Umunna, spokesman for The Independent Group, said: “I find it extraordinary behaviour in a national crisis.”
