High Frequency Trading in Currency Markets

High frequency trading or HFT has exploded over the equities market. But do its computerized techniques and specialized algorithms apply to the currency markets? In many ways currency markets led the way to electronic trading over twenty years ago with the advent of the EBS and Reuters dealing systems. We will briefly trace the evolution of the currency markets to their current fully electronic state and then examine the questions of HFT in currency trading.
