XRPL Labs to push Ripple (XRP) adoption with the acquisition of a banking license for XRPTipbot

The company that is currently pushing for the adoption of Ripple, XRPL Labs is reported to be seeking a banking license for its XRPTipBot platform. XRPL Labs is currently developing various XRP-based products with the intention of increasing the adoption of the digital token across the world. According to a tweet by Tiffany Hayden:

“The BIG news from yesterday’s $XRP meetup is that @WietseWind is in the process of obtaining a banking license for @xrptipbot!@XRPLLabs is going to bridge the legacy network!

XRPTipBot is a platform that enables sending and receiving of XRP on multiple social media platforms including Outlook, Gmail, Twitter as well as Reddit. In addition to these platforms, XRPTipBot could soon launch on Microsoft’s Skype application.

The intended banking license is supposed to introduce KYC and AML in readiness for the expansion of XRPTipBot. The license will also allow the company to handle transfers of XRP token. In addition to scaling its services to a larger demographic.
