U.S. and Swiss lawmakers will be meeting to discuss Libra and crypto

  • Members from the house of Congress Finance Services Committee are going to be meeting with Swiss officials, discussing Facebook’s Libra and broader cryptos.
  • The meeting is scheduled to take place this Friday, where both parties will be exchanging their views. 

 

A six-member delegation from the House of Congress’ Financial Services Committee will be meeting with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, Adrian Lobsiger, (FDPIC). They are set to discuss Facebook’s Libra project as reported by Swiss news outlet NZZ am Sonntag, 

The meeting is scheduled for this Friday, with the FDPIC National Counselor Christa Markwalder commenting and said:

 This [meeting] will give us an opportunity to exchange views with our American colleagues about cryptocurrencies, a complex topic where we can safely learn from each other.
