Crypto community cut off a conference with Craig Wright as one of the panelists

  • Wright had falsely claimed that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the inventor of Bitcoin.
  • Many important figures have refused to give credence to Wright’s claim.

The CC Forum on Blockchain, AI, and Digital Innovation started today in London. The most exciting panel discussion scheduled for the event, is “The Global Centralized Financial System: What Are The Flaws & Challenges And What Are The Possible Solutions?”

Moderated by Max Studennikoff, the panel will consist of Nouriel “Dr. Doom” Roubini, Craig Wright, Brock Pierce, Bobby Lee, and Tone Vays. Few prominent members of the community have planned to boycott the conference after realizing that Wright will be one of the scheduled speakers. Wright had claimed that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the inventor of Bitcoin, for which he has received many negative reviews. Moreover, the conference has planned another panel, which will only feature Wright, and it will refer him as being Satoshi Nakamoto. It’s called “What Was Your Purpose As Satoshi Writing The Whitepaper?”

Many important figures have refused to give credence to Wright’s claim. BitMEX Research, in its Twitter handle, posted a reminder of court rulings and fraud accusations against Wright. Charlie Lee, the founder of Litecoin, also took a stand against it. He said, “many of us made the pledge not to attend a conference that invites “faketoshi.” Yet you still plan to share the same stage with him. Shame.” Lee’s comments were directed at popular Bitcoin analyst Tone Vays, who was one of the panelists.

Tone Vays is a popular cryptocurrency analyst and commentator. A lot of people criticized Vays for being on a panel with Craig Wright. Back in May, Vays had not attended a conference called Magical Crypto, which was held in New York. He had stated that he found the concept of a “Bitcoin conference by shitcoiners hypocritical.” Vays says that he was unaware of Craig Wright being a part of the panel until the last moment, and has pledged to “defend Bitcoin against scammers on the stage.”

Though he has defined himself as a Bitcoin maximalist, he said that the attendees would be hurt if he does not attend the conference. However, the community is unsure if he will be present at the conference. The prominent members are adamant and believe that the best way to contradict Wright’s statement is to boycott conferences, which include him.
