Breaking news: Russia won't issue own cryptocurrency, but may use existing ones to avoid finance limitations

Russian president Vladimir Putin denied the issuance of national cryptocurrency speaking during his annual live question and answer session, called "Direct Line".  He explained that cryptocurrency cannot be owned by a state due to its decentralized nature.

He reiterated his position that cryptocurrencies are not legal means of payment or store of value, but admitted, that they are worth exploring as a way to avoid "limitations in global finance trade"
