ACNIQ raises $8m in Series A funding

  • The funding round was led by Idinvest Partners.
  • ACNIQ is known for its Eclair Lightning network implementation and mobile wallet app. 

As per a report by The Block, ACNIQ has successfully raised $8m in Series A funding. The funding round was by Idinvest Partners and saw participation from Serena and state-owned French investment bank, Bpifrance. ACNIQ is one of the three leading Lightning Network development firms and is known for its Eclair Lightning network implementation and mobile wallet app. They have also created an API for businesses to accept Lightning Network payments called Strike.

To date, ACNIQ has raised $10m in venture funding. This new round of funding will be used by the company to expand its business as a significant Lightning node operator and liquidity provider. Nicolas Debock, the managing director of Idinvest Partners, said about ACNIQ:

“Bitcoin is set to become the currency of the digital era, but its story is just beginning. Lightning will allow it to move to a new dimension and become universal. ACINQ’s team includes some of the best Lightning experts in the world."
