USD/CAD: Canadian Employment Data Set

The US Dollar appreciated against the Canadian Dollar, following the Canadian Employment data set release on Friday at 13:30 GMT. The USD/CAD exchange currency rate gained 28 pips or 0.21% right after the release. The Greenback continued trading at the 1.3225 level against the Canadian Dollar.

Statistics Canada released the Canadian Employment Change data, which came out worse-than-expected of negative 1.8K compared with the forecast of 14.7K.

According to the official release: "Employment was down for men in the core working ages of 25 to 54, and grew for the population aged 55 and over. Employment declined in manufacturing and construction. At the same time, employment was up in public administration and in finance, insurance, real estate, rental and leasing. The number of self-employed workers decreased, while the number of employees in the public sector increased for the second consecutive month."
