US: Sales of new single-family houses in June 2017 were 610,000

"Sales of new single-family houses in June 2017 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 610,000," the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development announced on Wednesday.

Key highlights:

  • This is 0.8 percent above the revised May rate of 605,000 and is 9.1 percent above the June 2016 estimate of 559,000.
  • The seasonally-adjusted estimate of new houses for sale at the end of June was 272,000. This represents a supply of 5.4 months at the current sales rate.
  • The median sales price of new houses sold in June 2017 was $310,800. The average sales price was $379,500
