US House to vote on Friday on $1.9 trillion stimulus bill at 1400 GMT

Steny Hoyer, the Majority Leader of the US House of Representatives, confirmed in his tweet, the House will vote on President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus stimulus bill this Friday at 1400 GMT.

Hoyer tweeted out: “The House will vote on Friday on @POTUS #AmericanRescuePlan to end this pandemic and deliver urgently needed relief to America’s families and small businesses. The American people strongly support this bill, and we are moving swiftly to see it enacted into law.”

Market reaction

Despite the positive developments on the stimulus front, the risk sentiment is taking a hit, with the S&P 500 futures now losing 0.16%.

The souring risk tone is putting a fresh bid under the safe-haven US dollar, as the greenback bounces-off a brief dip below 90.00 against its main competitors.
