US durable goods orders fell sharply in June

US durable goods orders, for products that are designed to last at least three years, fell 4.0% in June, the US Commerce Department said Wednesday.

This reading came in below the 1.1% drop expected and was the largest decline since August 2014.     

Orders for durable goods excluding the transportation fell 0.5% from May against a 0.3% increase expected.
