US Congress approves spending bill for $1.3 trillion

After much back-and-forth, the US Congress has approved the government spending bill and averted shutdown, the third case of government brinkmanship on spending inside of three months, and the only thing that remains is for the US president, Donald Trump, to sign the bill.

The massive 2,200-page omnibus pulls a lot of government programs into its reference pool, and very few politicians in Washington D.C. have read the entire thing.
