One police officer dies in Paris shooting incident; gunman killed

One police officer died, another wounded in a shooting incident in Paris, France. The gunman, who was reportedly killed, opened fire from a vehicle that was stopped at a traffic light in Champs Elysee.

According to an eyewitness quoted by Reuters, the gunman got out of the car with an AK-47 and began shooting. Also, three sources cited by the news agency stated that the incident could have been an attempted armed robbery. French interior minister said that police officers shot were "deliberately targeted".

At the time of writing, there are unconfirmed reports crossing the wires of another incident in Paris, near Champs Elysee.
