Japan Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga: Watching US-China ties closely

Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga is on the wires now, via Reuters, commenting on the US-China trade relationship following the conclusion of the APEC meeting.

Key Highlights:

The meeting was characterized by poor relations between China and the US, contrary to expectations of some sort of conciliation ahead of the G20 summit in Buenos Aries, November 30 and December 1.

APEC finished with no agreed-to statement for the first time ever. "We agreed to fight protectionism including all unfair trade practices."
