H.R. McMaster to resign as US national security advisor, successor named - NY Times

Following reporting a week ago that president Trump was planning on firing his national security advisor, H.R. McMaster has announced his retirement today.

According to the New York Times, Trump has already slated McMaster's position to be filled by John Bolton, someone who was already short-listed for the position. Mr. Bolton will make Trump's third national security advisor since taking office.
