Germany’s SPD leader Schulz to resign today?

Livesquawk reports the latest Twitter chatter circulating around the German politics, citing that Germany's Social Democratic Party (SPD) leader Martin Schulz will resign today.

Further, the possible replacements as SPD leader include Sigmar Gabriel or Olaf Scholz, both known to be keener on a deal with Merkel.

Earlier FT reported that pressure is growing on SPD to reconsider coalition talks with Angela Merkel, in a bid to break the political deadlock in Berlin and avoid new elections.
