French FinMin Le Maire: France to match tax cuts with spending cuts

Reuters reports late latest comments delivered by the French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire in an interview with LCI Television.

Key Quotes:

Further cuts to income tax would be matched euro-for-euro by cuts in public spending.

“The president has set a principle of which I am the guarantor: each euro of decrease in income tax must be financed by a decrease of one euro in public spending.”

The tax cut would benefit 15 million households and target the middle classes in particular.

The public deficit and debt would not be allowed to spiral out of control.
