Fed’s Evans - Next rate hike could be delayed until December

Charles Evans, head of the Chicago Federal Reserve, while speaking in New York said, “it is worth waiting until the end of the year to assess on another rate hike. Evans sees inflation struggling to reach 2% and wants to see an uptick in inflation before moving rates. The Fed is the central banking system of the United States which has eight meetings per year, one every six weeks or so and the main objectives are to moderate long-term interest rates, stable prices and maximum employment.

Janet Yellen, born in 1946, is an American economist who is the Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System since 2014. She is considered by many on Wall Street to be a "dove" (more concerned with unemployment than with inflation). Finally, she has written on a wide variety of macroeconomic issues, specially related to unemployment.
