EU member states agree to grant UK 3-month extension to N. Ireland protocol – RTE

According to Irish national broadcaster RTE, member states of the European Union have agreed to grant the UK a three-month extension to the Northern Irelan protocol, as reported by Reuters.

"RTE reported that member states informally agreed to do so subject to Britain continuing to align with EU food safety rules for the duration of the extension," Reuters added.

The UK's FTSE 100 Index edged modestly higher on this headline and was last seen gaining 0.42% on the day at 7,119.
