China’s Foreign Ministry: China, US and Europe should work together to uphold multilateralism

After US President Joe Biden called for democracies to coordinate their approach to China last Friday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the US and Europe should work together with them to uphold multilateralism.

The Foreign Ministry has also urged Washington to lift sanctions and to stop interfering in the country’s internal affairs.

Market reaction

With the risk sentiment taking a hit in the European morning, AUD/USD is correcting further from three-year highs of 0.7908.

The spot was last seen trading at 0.7866, modestly flat on the day, as investors digest the latest US-China headlines.
