Canada: Ivey PMI eased to 58.5 in April

The Ivey Purchasing Managers Index (PMI), an economic index which measures the month to month variation in economic activity as indicated by a panel of purchasing managers from across Canada, and is prepared by the Ivey Business School, revealed that the headline PMI eased to 58.5 in April from 67.6 in March.

Key findings:

  • Ivey Employment Index rose to 54.8 in April from 53.2 in March
  • Ivey Inventories Index fell to 51.2 in April from 61.6 in March
  • Ivey Prices Index improved to 66.5 in April from 63 in March
