Australian Prime Minister on course for election defeat - Poll

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morison’s coalition government is on course for defeat at this weekend’s national election, a political poll showed on Friday.

An Ipsos poll for the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age newspapers shows Australia’s Labor ahead of the coalition government by a margin of 51-49, according to Reuters.

Going by polls, it appears Morrison’s campaign based on projection to deliver first budget surplus is failing to win voters.

Labor on the other hand has promised to match the government’s 2019-20 surplus and deliver a bigger surplus in the following year.
