  • Lucien Chen was caught on breaking a law and corporate rules.
  • His role in the company was exaggerated.

Tron Foundation commented the recent scandalous departure of  its CTO Lucien Chen who recently announced in his Medium post his dismissal from TRON.  He explained the move by several reasons including the lack of decentralization

“As a technical man, I feel very sad that the TRON has departed from the faith of “decentralize the web.” he wrote.

Meanwhile, according to an official version of TRON Foundation, Mr. Chen had been fired for the breach of law and corporate rules, including theft of trade secrets and intellectual property.

The company published a post in Reddit, explaining that a large scale investigation revealed serious violations of corporate policies and law. Namely, Chen and two other employees were “suspected of misappropriation of funds, bribery, competitive infringement, and theft of trade secrets and intellectual property.”

They were fired following the above said investigation in January 2019.

Also, the company emphasised that Chen’s role in the project had been exaggerated.

“Chen joined TRON in October 2017 not as a co-founder but rather a technical leader,” the statement goes.
