Samsung Galaxy S10 has built-in crypto support

  • Samsung’s Galaxy S10 model will have the “Samsung Knox” system which will be used to store the user’s private keys.
  • Galaxy S10 features an Exynos 9820 chip with PUF technology, which is a great processor for a native crypto wallet.

Samsung, the South Korean smartphone giants, unveiled their Galaxy S10 model with a built-in crypto wallet. The “Samsung Knox” uses hardware security to store private keys. In a press release, Samsung explained:

“Galaxy S10 is built with defense-grade Samsung Knox, as well as a secure storage backed by hardware, which houses your private keys for blockchain-enabled mobile services.”

IT expert Han Ho-Hyeon said that the Galaxy S10 features an Exynos 9820 chip with PUF technology, which would be the perfect processor for a native crypto wallet. Specifically, the Exynos 9820 will significantly enhance private key security. Ho-Hyeon said:

“PUF technology has been added to the Exynos 9820 revealed by Samsung Electronics last year and if the Galaxy S10 features a blockchain-based crypto wallet, the probability of Samsung Electronics utilizing the PUF is very high.”

Even though HTC’s Exodus 1 and Sirin Labs’ Finney were the first smartphones to have built-in crypto support, Samsung’s integration gives the crypto industry a massive stamp of legitimacy.
