Greater staking rewards for the upcoming ETH PoS Algorithm proposed by Vitalik Buterin

  • Ethereum validators to potentially receive more rewards at the upcoming ETH PoS update.
  • Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin proposed the higher rewards for its validators.

Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum co-founder is proposing a raising the staking reward for the upcoming proof-of-stake (PoS) algorithm implementation, which is going to be on the Ethereum blockchain on GitHub.

In terms of the details; 2,097,152 ETH per year would be issued when 134,217,728 ether is staked and validating transactions, which will result in an annual return for the stakers of 1.56%. It is worth noting that the current circulating supply is seen at 105,764,762 ETH, essentially meaning that this amount of stacked ETH is a theoretical maximum somewhat of sorts.

A closely followed Ethereum researcher, Justin Drake estimated that after the completion of the PoS and sharding have been integrated — with 32 million ETH staked — all validators of the process will receive a base return of around  3.2%. This number is equivalent to about 1% of the total supply.
