Breaking news: Google ends cryptocurrency advertisement ban

  • Google will be reversing their ban on cryptocurrency related advertisements.
  • The largest search engine company said they are planning to allow just regulated cryptocurrency exchanges to advertise in the United States and Japan.

The world’s largest search engine company, Google, will be reversing part of their cryptocurrency advertisement ban, reported by CNBC. Their initial ban across all cryptocurrency ads was first announced earlier this year, in March.

Google’s new policy on cryptocurrency advertisements is said to start from next month, October. This will allow regulated cryptocurrency exchanges to buy ads, in the United States and Japan, as being covered by CNBC.

This move comes after Facebook back in June, they announced reversing its ban on some cryptocurrency ads. The initial bans from both companies, were at a time of extreme heightened concern regarding consumers protection, due to the number of scams doing the round particularly within the initial coin offerings (ICOs) market.
