Reuters reports comments from the Chinese officials, as they respond to the UK officials’ comments (reported via FT) citing that Britain is interested in joining the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade bloc in a bid to boost post-Brexit exports.
It would be premature for UK to seek TPP pact
Says that the UK trade minister Fox asked about a trade deal with China, and mentioned that the service sector openness is a big issue for the UK.
Fox is also said to have mentioned that free trade agreement is not the only option for a deal with China - citing mutual recognition or sector-specific options.
