American equity markets mixed at opening after two-day hiatus (Barcelona) - The US Stock market is mixed across the board after an unprecedented two-day respite in trading following Hurricane Sandy. Beginning with the indices and composites, the NASDAQ surrendered -0.02% as it settles in region of 2987.67, down 0.64 points in these moments.

In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in positive territory, operating at 1417.58, gaining 5.56 points or +0.39% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved higher at the opening as well, operating in the zone of 13132.17, presently up +0.19% after an ascent of 24.96 points.

Sectors are all positive the opening, however the Capital Goods and Basic Materials sectors have distinguished itself as the winners thus far, rising +0.71% and +0.69% respectively. In other news, the price of crude has settled below USD $86.16 today, rising +0.56%.
