Gold reaches 3-week high (Córdoba) - Gold surged to a fresh 3-week high above $1,730 an ounce as concerns over Europe and the US fiscal cliff left investors seeking for refuge.

The yellow metal has climbed over $20 throughout the day and recently hit its highest since Oct 19 at $1,735 an ounce. At time of writing, gold is quoting around $1,733 recording a 0.9% gain on the day.
